Among them are outdated standards of higher education that are not keeping up with technological progress and innovation, companies are focused on short-term projects and short-term profits while innovations provide strategic business development, the difficulty of harmonizing the legal parameters of intellectual property and bureaucratic obstacles. Examples of cooperation between universities and enterprises in Ukraine and abroad are considered. Cooperation is characterized by the opportunity for students to practice and successfully work after graduation. Scientists are able to participate in production and in experimentally introduce innovative products. It is determined that cooperation is mutually beneficial for all economic relations subjects. In order to establish cooperation between the institutions of higher education and the real business subjects, steps must be taken to meet each other. Universities need to develop and adopt documents of defining the partnership policy and the cooperation terms. Enterprises, in their turn, should be actively involved in the forming process of the education content, investing in improving the university’s laboratory equipment and being open to cooperation.</p> <p>Cooperation between business sector and universities in the field of research and development is an untapped reserve for accelerating the innovative development of Ukraine. It has been determined that the success and synergy effect of production structures with educational institutions interaction are possible under the condition of the mutually beneficial partnerships formation.
