Privacy Policy

  • Reviewers are required to treat manuscripts confidentially.
  • Reviewers have the right to discuss the manuscript with other people only with the consent of the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Reviewers shall not use privileged information or ideas in the submitted manuscripts for personal advantage or own research.

Originality and Plagiarism

  • The author(s) of article must guarantee that the work reported in the manuscript is original and free from any kind of plagiarism and if the author(s) has (have) used the work(s) and/or words of others they must be appropriately cited or quoted in the text and included in the reference list.
  • Plagiarism can be of different types and range from passing off someone else’s work as the author’s own work to using a large chunk of text without citation or paraphrasing a text without attribution and claiming rights to the results obtained in other people’s research. All forms of plagiarism are unethical and unacceptable.
  • The work should not have been published elsewhere or submitted to any other journal(s) at the time of submission to this journal.

Authorship of Articles

Only those who have made any substantial contribution to the concept, composition, writing or interpretation of the submitted work, should be listed as authors. Other contributors should be mentioned as co-authors or indicated in the acknowledgments section. The number of authors should not exceed ten (not more than four authors from the same institution).

Information Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

The authors are required to declare any financial or other conflict of interest that may have influenced the results or interpretation of results in their manuscripts. All sources of financial support should be disclosed.

Errors in Published Articles

In case a significant error or inaccuracy in the published article in the journal is discovered, the author(s) must notify the Editor-in-Chief and cooperate with the editorial office to publish a retraction notice or correct the article. If the Editor-in-Chief finds out from a third party that the published article contains a significant error, the author(s) must retract or correct the article or provide the Editor-in-Chief with evidence that the information in the published article is correct.

Validity of Findings

The responsibility for the accuracy of the content of the article and validity of findings rests with the author(s). The author(s) should check references to ensure they are correct.

The authors are intended to indicate in the submitted manuscripts the institutions and research programs, in which the research was done.

 

Publishing Ethics

Scientific Bulletin of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Series: Economics and Management in the Oil and Gas Industry), founded and published by the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, has high requirements for the submitted articles that are selected and accepted for publishing. These requirements are defined by the research areas of the journal, provided by the Certificate of State Registration, scope of the journal and quality standards of research papers and their style, accepted in the academic community, in particular, the publishing principles of Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK), Committee on Publication Ethics, Code of Ethics for a Scientist in Ukraine, Code of Conduct.  The journal follows Best Practice Guidelines as well as the experience of foreign and Ukrainian professional associations, research organizations, editorial boards and editorial offices.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Editorial Board of the Journal

  1. The Editorial Board is responsible for the publication.
  2. All submitted materials are carefully selected and are subject to double-blind review. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject the article or return it as requiring improvement due to the fact that the article does not correspond to the profile of the journal or contains plagiarized portions of the published materials. The author is obliged to improve the article according to the remarks of the reviewers and the Editorial Board and send it to the editorial office.
  3. The Editorial Board should consider all manuscripts submitted for publication without prejudice, evaluating each on its merits without regard to race, religion, nationality, status, or institutional affiliation of the author(s). The Editorial Board makes fair and impartial decisions independent of commercial or other interests to ensure a fair review process.
  4. The Editorial Board of the journal is against falsification, plagiarism, submission of the same manuscript to the editorial offices of any other journals at the time of submission to this journal, multiple copying of the content of the article in different works, misleading the public about the actual contributions of the authors to the manuscript.
  5. The Editorial Board has the right to withdraw the article already published in case somebody’s rights or generally accepted norms of scientific ethics appear violated. Editors inform the author(s) of the article and representatives of the organization, where the research was held, about the fact of withdrawal.
  6. The editors and members of the Editorial Board should not disclose any information about a manuscript under consideration to anyone other than those from whom professional advice is sought. The materials in the unpublished manuscript should not be used in the research of the editor(s) or members of the Editorial Board without the consent of the author.
  7. The editorial responsibility and authority for any manuscript authored by the editor and submitted to the editor’s journal should be delegated to other qualified person.
  8. After a positive decision has been made about the manuscript, it should be published in the journal and on the website of the journal.
  9. Editors, authors, and reviewers should declare their interests (intellectual, financial, personal, political, religious), which may affect the objectivity of editing and reviewing the article materials (case of the conflict of interest).
  10. Editors do not bear responsibility for probable damage caused by publication of a manuscript to authors or third parties.
  11. The prevention of illegal publications is the responsibility of each author, editor, reviewer, publisher and organization.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

  1. The main responsibility the author is to present an accurate account of the research performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Authors should represent their findings clearly and unambiguously, so that their conclusions can be proved by other scientists and scholars, without forged data or their improper manipulation.
  2. Whole responsibility for content of articles and for the fact of publication rests with author(s). Any unusual hazards appearing during an investigation should be clearly identified in a manuscript reporting the work.
  3. The submitting author is responsible for that the co-authors of a paper should be all those persons who have made significant scientific contributions to the work reported and who share responsibility and accountability for the results. The submitting author should have obtained the co-author’s assent to co-authorship of the manuscript and its publication in the journal.
  4. It is unacceptable to submit the plagiarism as an original work and the previously published article. In the case these facts are detected the authors bear the responsibility for the materials provided.
  5. The author should cite those publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work and that will guide the reader quickly to the earlier work, essential for understanding the present investigation. For critical materials (except that which are common knowledge) used in the work, proper citation to sources should also be made when these were not supplied by the author.
  6. The authors should identify the sources of all information quoted or offered in the manuscript. References must be listed in APA style.
  7. The authors should reveal to the editor of the journal any potential conflict of interests that might be affected by publication of the results contained in the authors’ manuscript.
  8. The Editorial Board has the right to reject the publication of the articles in case its requirements are violated.

Ethical Obligations of Reviewers                                          

  1. The Editorial Board reserves the right to appoint an additional independent reviewer.
  2. All members of the Editorial Board are reviewers.
  3. The reviewer has the right to refuse to review the manuscript in case s/he feels inadequately qualified to judge the research reported in the manuscript. The reviewer should not evaluate a manuscript authored or co-authored by a person with whom the reviewer has a personal or professional connection.
  4. The reviewers should evaluate objectively the quality of the manuscript with due regard to the maintenance of high scientific and literary standards. The reviewers should respect the intellectual independence of the authors. The reviewers should treat a manuscript sent for review as a confidential document.
  5. The reviewers should explain and support their judgments adequately. Any statement that any material provided in the manuscript has been previously published should be accompanied by the relevant citation.
  6. The reviewers should call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and any published article or any manuscript submitted concurrently to another journal.
  7. The reviewers should act promptly and submit their conclusion in a timely manner.
  8. The reviewers should not use or disclose the unpublished information, contained in the manuscript under consideration, except with the consent of the author(s).
