ANALYSIS OF TRENDS IN THE LABOR MARKET OF UKRAINE UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF THE MARTIAL LAW

The article is devoted to the study of trends in the labor market of Ukraine under martial law. It turns out that the labor market is going through its worst times. A feature of the labor market is the loss of jobs. Analyzing the unemployment rate in Ukraine, we see that 2022 was the critical year. The unemployment rate has reached 30%. A tendency to decrease the need for jobs in the field of energy, transport, agricultural and forestry workers has been established. The demand for specialists in the financial sector of the economy and the IT sector is growing.
The trends in vacancies of the State Employment Center were analyzed. We observe an increase in the number of vacancies. It was established that with the assistance of the center in January-May 2023, 88,700 people were employed, including 65,100 registered unemployed. The largest number of unemployed citizens are employed in the sectors of processing industry, trade, agriculture, health care and social assistance, public administration, defense and education. The number of immigrants who turn to employment centers in search of work is increasing. Among the unemployed, we observe a new category of persons - participants in hostilities. Studies have pointed to a trend towards lower wages for workers and difficulties in finding employment for young people.
We also present a trend study of jobs posted on the job search site Djinni. Having analyzed the changes in trends, we conclude that the labor market in Ukraine is gradually recovering.
In order to solve the existing problems of the labor market under martial law, it is proposed to develop and implement employment support programs, intensify efforts to create new jobs in such fields as: information technology, ecology, alternative energy, etc. It is important to promote the development of entrepreneurship and startups, attract investments and create favorable conditions for business development.
