The article focuses on exploring current trends in the development of
entrepreneurship in the light industry sector at the regional level. The target region includes the
Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Chernivtsi regions. It has been revealed that under
current conditions, businesses are rapidly adapting, discovering new niches, and changing
strategies. The role of business is growing, as it contributes to job creation, attracts investments,
develops markets and infrastructure, forms regional budgets, stimulates competition, fosters
innovation, initiates corporate social responsibility projects, and expands project-based activities.
The study examines business entities engaged in the following types of economic
activities: textile production; clothing manufacturing; production of leather, leather goods, and
other materials; and the production of other related products. It was found that the largest
number of business entities engaged in these activities are registered in the Ivano-Frankivsk
region (67% individual entrepreneurs and 33% legal entities), while the smallest number is in the
Ternopil region. The Zakarpattia region has the highest proportion of legal entities (41%). Every
second enterprise in the studied region is engaged in clothing manufacturing. The fewest
business entities are involved in the production of leather, leather goods, and other materials.
Changes in the number of employees across the regions are presented, along with the dynamics
of tax revenues. Zakarpattia is the leader in tax contributions, while Ivano-Frankivsk receives the
least tax revenue from business activities.
Prospective directions for entrepreneurship development are proposed, including the
creation of industrial parks; entry into foreign markets or expansion of existing exports; scaling
up production; optimization of production processes; creation of innovative manufacturing;
participation in international exhibitions and fairs; and the implementation of environmental
responsibility in business.
